Pastor Eric Doucet was born in Nederland, Texas in 1966. He attended Dallas Baptist University, graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Pastor Doucet met his wife, Lisa, while attending DBU. They were married in November of 1989 and have four children: Jacob (12/4/92), Rachel (9/10/96), Erica (5/6/99), and Jackson (2/5/03).

In December of 1989, Pastor Doucet trusted Christ as his personal Savior at Berean Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas. He soon answered God's call to preach and moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend Baptist Bible Graduate School of Theology (BBGST). He graduated in 1996 with a Master's degree in Biblical Studies.

While attending BBGST Pastor Doucet began serving as Youth Pastor at West Side Baptist Church in Emporia, Kansas. He went on staff full-time after graduation and served as Associate Pastor until becoming Pastor of Texas Avenue in June of 1998.
